While Shaquille O’Neal is making strides with his post-NBA ventures, his son is making a major NCAA transfer decision.
The basketball legend’s son, Shaqir O’Neal, has decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal after an impressive junior season at Florida A&M University.
According to On3’s Transfer Portal, this isn’t his first transfer, as he previously played at Texas Southern. Now, he’s hoping to find a new school that fits him well for the next chapter of his college basketball journey.
Last season, Shaqir put up some decent numbers, averaging 6.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game while shooting 50%. However, as part of the Class of 2021, he was unranked by the major recruiting outlets, which makes this transfer a big moment for him to showcase his talents.
Shaquille’s son played high school basketball at Union Grove in Georgia and is originally from McDonough, Maryland.
Additionally, Shaqir’s older brother, Shareef O’Neal, has been carving out his own path. He played college ball at both UCLA and LSU before trying his hand in the NBA G League. He was named an All-Star in the G League’s inaugural Next-Up Game for the 2022–23 season.

While Shaqir O’Neal, the son of NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, has entered the transfer portal, speculations run high on his potential landing spots.
Given his background and performance, several potential programs stand out as top landing spots for the young forward.
One of the most compelling options is Georgia State, located less than an hour from where O’Neal played high school basketball. The Panthers finished with a 14-19 record and could benefit from his size and experience on a team looking to rebuild after losing key forwards.
Staying within the Peach State could also lead Shaqir to Georgia Southern. With the Eagles facing the possibility of losing several forwards due to eligibility exhaustion transfers, his addition could strengthen their frontcourt as they seek to improve from a tie for eighth place in the Sun Belt Conference.
Moving forward within the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), O’Neal could join the Southern Jaguars. The team recently wrapped up a successful season with a 20-12 record and a SWAC regular-season title.
Alternatively, he may consider the storied programs like UCLA and LSU. Joining the Bruins would be a significant leap, given their competitive nature and the potential for increased exposure.
VIDEO: Some Dude Just Dropped The Cold Hard Truth On Why All Of These NFL Prospects Are “Dating White Women”

Unless this is your first day in America, then you know race relations in this country dominate just everything, and that includes NBA and NFL drafts
During the most recent NFL Draft in Detroit, social media was buzzing as athletes showed up to the red carpet event with their girlfriends and family. Many of the incoming NFL rookies were African-American and were spotted with white women, which has become the usual theme for years.
The same thing happens with the NBA Draft.
This year, the discourse on the NFL Draft and NBA Draft has gotten even louder as African-American women openly pondered why so many of the players never have a partner that is the same race as them.
One guy on TikTok decided to answer that question by revealing that the vast majority of his division-1 friends in college or headed to the league are dating or married to white women and explained why.
He stated that some of them had told him that their white girlfriend looked up to Taylor Swift while their girlfriend looked up to Megan The Stallion. He then states the guy asks how many white women he has seen doing the Megan Thee Stallion challenge as opposed to Black women.
He then dove into another story of a friend who relayed that his Black girlfriend started to request money from him as soon as she found out about his NIL money. She wanted her hair and nails done. He then added that the Black women would be upset if they went to places like Chipotle, and she demanded steak houses.
