Lorraine Kelly sank her claws into Alec Baldwin’s ‘insane’ reality show and ‘bizarre’ wife Hilaria during her programme on Thursday.
As she discussed the latest showbiz news with Los Angeles correspondent Ross King, the host took a swipe at Hilaria and said: ‘We all know she’s a pretender.’
The trailer for Alec’s controversial western Rust was unveiled this week – nearly four years after the tragic shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins shut down production.
Amid the fallout, the couple released a fly-on-the-wall series about their family life, which premiered on TLC last month, but has attracted some of the worst reviews of any TV programme.
Discussing Rust, Lorraine said: ‘I didn’t think this movie would see the light of day…personally, I don’t want to see it.’
Ross agreed: ‘I was like you, I thought the film was never going to get made. Interestingly enough, it’s going to come out May 2 in theatres, so it’s not one of those ones where they can hide it away on a streamer.’

He continued: ‘When you see the trailer, will there be any reference, will they lean into the tragedy?
‘There’s an interesting line in there where Alec Baldwin’s character says, “Some things in life you just can’t get back.” They’re obviously leaning into it as well.’
Lorraine added: ‘He’s gone on to do this insane reality show with his wife who we all know was pretending to be Spanish at one point. You couldn’t make it up – it’s bizarre.’
Hilaria, real name Hillary Hayward-Thomas, who was born in an upscale neighbourhood of Boston, has raised eyebrows over the years with her questionable dialect.
Although her parents live in Majorca, Spain, she grew up in the states and is American – but she often uses a Spanish accent in interviews.
Hilaria was exposed four years ago by DailyMail.com for listing her birthplace as Majorca, Spain, on her agency’s website.
In the trailer for Rust, Alec’s aging outlaw character Harland Rust uttered the ironic line ‘Somethings in this life you can’t get back, I reckon’ to his orphaned 13-year-old grandson Lucas McCalister (Patrick Scott McDermott).
Lucas accidentally kills a rancher and is sentenced to hang before Harland breaks him out of jail and takes him on the run to Mexico from US Marshal Wood Helm (Josh Hopkins) and bounty hunter Preacher (Travis Fimmel).

‘Heaven ain’t waiting on either one of us,’ Alec’s character warned one of the antagonists.
Guns and violence are in practically every shot of the minute-long preview for the action-packed flick set in 1880s Kansas, which feels disturbing considering six real live bullets were discovered on the troubled set.
Even Rust Movie Productions rep Melina Spadone described it as ‘a story of the ripples that a single violent act can send through generations and the hard-fought redemption to be found in a world where the line between good and evil can often be unclear.’
Alec’s involuntary manslaughter trial only lasted three days before being dismissed on July 12 after he denied ever pulling the trigger on the revolver that fired a single bullet into Rust director Joel Souza’s arm and punctured Halyna’s chest killing her in 2021.
Hutchins – who’s buried near the pond at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery – also left behind her 12-year-old son Andros.
In January, Baldwin filed a civil lawsuit, accusing several people in the Santa Fe, New Mexico District Attorney’s office of malicious prosecution and civil rights violations after he was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Rust cinematographer Halyna.
Meanwhile, Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was sentenced to 18 months in New Mexico Women’s Correctional Facility on April 15 for involuntary manslaughter conviction for her role in the shooting.
In 2021, he fired a gun on the set that was supposed to be loaded with blanks, and not real bullets.
The actor claimed he had pulled back the hammer of the revolver, not the trigger, but the gun fired anyway.
Director Joel Souza was also injured in the incident.
In the court filing, The Departed star and his legal team accused prosecutors of trying to ‘scapegoat Baldwin for the acts and omissions of others, regardless of the evidence or the law,’ according to the Associate Press.

They also accused prosecutors and investigators of targeting the star for professional or political gain.
Baldwin is seeking unspecified punitive damages, compensatory damages, attorneys’ fees and interest.
The case was dismissed in September 2024 after it was discovered the prosecution had withheld evidence in the case, and did not share information about or access to live ammunition brought in by a retired police officer who said it could be related to the Hutchins killing.
The ammo was filed under a separate case number and Baldwin’s legal team was not notified.
After the dismissal of Baldwin’s case, weapons supervisor Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, moved to have her conviction dismissed or to receive a new trial. She remains free as she awaits the court’s decision.
