Celebrity Big Brother host Will Best has revealed why there will ‘always be a place’ for the popular ITV show on our screens. 

The celebrity version of the much loved reality programme premiered way back in 2001, and has become a huge fan favourite ever since.

Over the years there have been a whopping 633 episodes over 23 seasons.

But with the rise in popularity of new shows such as BBC’s The Traitors and ITV’s Love Island, there means that there is more competition for it to stay in demand.

And the presenter has revealed why there will always be a place for it on our screens.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Will, 40, said: ‘It is unique, right?

‘Like, I think the difference with Celebrity Big Brother, compared to any other reality show, as AJ was saying at the start there is, there is no hiding who you really are, right?

‘You’re being filmed 24 hours a day for three weeks in a situation that you have absolutely no control over, and it’s going out super fast turnaround with lots of footage that is actually taken live, you know, we go live to the house loads on Late and Live.

‘There is no other show like that.

‘There is no other show where you are guaranteed to see who people really are, you know, and I think that there will always be a place for that.’

AJ added: ‘Absolutely.’

The Traitors premiered on BBC One in 2022 and has since gone on to have three successful series.

The show follows a bunch of people move into a mansion and they have to try and figure out who host Claudia Winkleman, 53, has picked to be the Traitors.

It has received rave review and the first episode of the latest series, which aired in January, was watched by over 10 million viewers.

CBB sees a bunch of famous faces live together as part of a social experiment and are given a number of tasks to complete throughout their stay.

The programme originally aired on Channel 4 between 2001 and 2010, which was then followed by a stint Channel 5 until 2018.

It relaunched on ITV last year and the highly anticipated 24th series of Celebrity Big Brother will hit our screens on April 7.

Will and co-host AJ Odudu, 37 – who have presented the show since its reboot on ITV2 in 2023 – couldn’t give much away about what viewers can expect next month.

He said: ‘We know nothing, but you always know that every every series, big brother is going to raise the stakes and raise the game.

‘I think, I think big brother showed that in the last civilian series.

‘It was definitely a build on the first series.

‘I think big brother was more mischievous.

‘I think Big Brother, played with them more, you know, I wouldn’t go as far as to say evil, but certainly, you know, after some tricks, and I reckon we’re going to see the same thing for this celebrity series compared to the last one.’

AJ added: ‘Every year you’re like “Oh my god, these tasks are incredible”.

‘Just when you think they can’t surpass themselves, they just do, the task team.

‘I just can’t I can’t wait to see all the celebs doing a bunch of silly tasks.’

Will chimed in: ‘Very un celeby things.’

AJ continued: ‘That’s what I want to see. I want to see outfits. I want to see costumes. I want to see it all.’

And viewers will be treated to a brand new location, after filming at Garden Studios in Harlesden, West London.

AJ told us: ‘There’s always twists and turns with Big Brother.

‘You can always guarantee.

‘Obviously, the house is in a brand new location.

‘It’s got a brand layout, I know, the house has been made slightly smaller, which might you know, heighten drama.

‘It’s always so exciting becase no matter what these celebtie sod, how well kown they are in comparison to one another.

A couple of days in the BB house, they can be their true selves and that’s what I can’t wait to see.

‘You might think one person’s one way, but then it turns out there with another, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse.

‘That’s the amazing thing about this social experiment.’
