Alex confirmed that actors Rosamund Pike and Olivia Dean would also grace the set, before teasing: ‘And someone JB is super excited about, the real-life Usher is going to be here.’
However, during Friday’s show Alex revealed Usher couldn’t make it to the studio, explaining: ‘Now, we said last night that Usher was gonna be here.
‘JB is devastated because unfortunately, he couldn’t make it,’ Alex shared, with JB visibly gutted, putting his head down.

The JLS star, 38, who was presenting the show on Thursday alongside Alex Jones, excitedly previewed Friday’s line-up, as he couldn’t wait to meet the huge star
It comes after Alex revealed the Hollywood A-lister who was ‘so full of himself’ on The One Show.
The presenter, 48, shared on the Netmums Podcast that actor Jared Leto , 53, was her least favourite guest to ever appear on the BBC show.
Jared was interviewed on the chat show in April 2022 to discuss his miniseries, WeCrashed.
She told hosts Wendy Golledge and Alison Perry: ‘Jared Leto was dressed as one of the Three Musketeers and he had all this, I don’t know, Gucci, big shirt, sleeves billowing. I mean, he was so full of himself.
‘And I thought, no, no, no, no. Our audience are nice people and, they deserve better than this. And, ok, you might be like a huge celebrity star and you’ve done all these films, but it doesn’t cost to be polite and nice.
‘Anybody who can’t bring those simple skills to the table, I’m out. I’m like, no, sorry, you’ve not been brought up well, then.’
She added: ‘People assume that, it must be amazing to have these big Hollywood actors and yeah, it is. It’s fine. But I really like when we have British homegrown talent. They know the show, they know the atmosphere and, they give really good interviews as a result.
‘We’ve had people on that are big Hollywood stars. Last week we had Robert De Niro and, he was lovely. He was a little bit like, “oh, my God, this is live.” And that’s the thing about actors, they don’t like being themselves. They often get quite nervous.

‘There are some who are brilliant, and they are very relaxed, but when they have to promote the film, they get into a panic, and the interview can be a little bit sort of staccato and it doesn’t really flow.’
Alex went on to share some funny moments, and admitted she enjoys when things go wrong.
‘I like the moments where things go wrong. Like we had a Cyberman who fainted. That was great,’ she said.
‘And we’ve had some funny moments. I remember we had a Dalek on the show because it was like a big Doctor Who anniversary and the Dalek couldn’t fit through the studio door and we were just weak because it was all built around this Dalek and then suddenly the Dalek was like it was coming forward, but it couldn’t quite squeeze in.
‘Live television is brilliant and keeps you vital and I’m still so grateful and sort of just amazed that I’m still there, you know, Not a day is the same.
‘It’s a lovely job to be in, but when things go wrong, it’s really good fun, you know, because there’s a bit of jeopardy.’
It comes after The One Show viewers expressed concern for a ‘confused and awkward’ Robert after a live interview left them asking ‘what’s wrong with him’.
The BBC ‘s evening programme saw the A-Lister, 81, feature alongside presenters Alex and Clara Amfo , as well as other stars.

During the instalment Robert was asked to give advice to 15-year-old Owen Cooper, who starred in the new Netflix drama, Adolescence.
Robert told the young actor: ‘Well, I think he’s off to a good start, that’s the main thing.
‘And just keep at it. Keep at it! Do…I mean he’s there. Now it’s common sense, what to do, what not to do.
‘Try to stay out of trouble and all that stuff and you’ll do well. You’ll do well!’
However, his flat response sparked concern in some viewers, who took to social media to share their thoughts.
One posted on X: ‘Had to pause Robert de Niro giving career advice so I can fast forward it, awkward as sh*** #Theoneshow.’;
‘What’s wrong with Robert de Niro he looks so confused #TheOneShow.’;
Others thought the star looked ‘disinterested’ on the programme and one penned: ‘Well I watched it, De Niro was disinterested and didn’t want to be there.’;
‘Bobby seem engaged… Not!! #theoneshow.’; ‘Could Robert de Niro look any less interested #TheOneShow.’

It comes after the actor appeared on NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday, to promote his Netflix series Zero Day.
He was asked by Meyers what kinds of children’s programming he’s been watching with his daughter Gia who was born back in April 2023.
‘Well, I watch Miss Rachel, The Wiggles, Blippy, and sometimes we watch episodes where they all work together,’ De Niro admitted.
Host Seth Meyers joked, ‘That’s the way I felt when I saw Heat,’ the 1995 Michael Mann classic that brought De Niro and Al Pacino on screen together.
De Niro then joked, ‘That’s what I felt when I saw Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein,’ referring to the 1948 Universal Pictures classics.
