Channel executives have canned a number of programmes across multiple genres.

In terms of drama, S.W.A.T. was the first to be cancelled by the higher-ups.

The Shemar Moore-led drama was initially set to end after six seasons in 2023.

However, the show was later given a lifeline and revived by bosses for one more season.

This was following an outcry from fans; however, the show will now finish for good after the eighth season.

After the news was announced, the showrunner of the drama spoke out as he admitted his devastation.

Andrew Dettmann explained: “It’s heartbreaking news, primarily because it’s been such an immense pleasure working with this cast and crew to put out a show that we’ve always been proud of.”

Two popular spin-offs in the FBI franchise have unfortunately suffered the same fate.

The characters were first introduced on-screen via a backdoor pilot that was filmed during the very first season of the original show.

Bosses have decided to end the show after six seasons on CBS, starring huge names such as Dylan McDermott,

At the same time, it was announced that FBI: International will also end after four seasons.

Jesse Lee Soffer and Luke Kleintank led the cast of the second spin-off, which focused on FBI special agents who investigate crime and terrorism abroad.

CBS has announced its fall premiere lineup. The network has decided to push most of its premieres back to mid-October, while one highly-anticipated show is still slated to air in September.

The hit franchise first debuted in 2021; as fans watched four seasons on their screens at home.

But it is not just the drama department that has faced controversial cancellations.

The popular late-night comedy show, “After Midnight,” will conclude after two seasons.

Viewers loved the panel show, but host Taylor Tomlinson, 31, has returned to stand-up comedy.

CBS has also announced that it will not air any original programming in the 12:30 am slot going forward.
